The Finished Project!!
Now here is how to make it,
and modify it to suit your family.
Cut 12x12 B & T into 4--6x6 sqaures as shown
Cut each 6" square into 9--2x2 squares
Then cut
Cut 36 1 1/2 squares out of colonial white cardstock
(I used the sqaure #7 from the AP cricut cartridge cut at 1 1/2" to give the blocks a bit more character)
Then stamp the following
HOPE FAITH
FAMILY (plus 3 photo blocks or sayings)
CHRISTMAS
EASTER JOY
You might notice that each line is 9 letters (or blocks) long
Adhere each letter to a 2x2 square
like so (you can see that I used 3 of the saying from the Rock the Block promo stamp set)
then adhere these squares to the blocks
Hint:
adhere one set of letters to one side of the block like above the stretch the blocks out into a row
roll the blocks over and adhere your next set of letters
(Option--I hope you can understand my explanation --you can replace duplicate "letters" with photos if you so choose. for example
on the one side * * *FAMILY
roll the blocks HOPE FAITH
roll the blocks JOY EASTER
roll the blocks CHRISTMAS
notice that the "I" in family & the "I" in faith end up on the same block--the "I" is a duplicate letter
once you have rolled the block 4 times you will end up with 2 uncovered ends
rotate your blocks so one blank side is facing you
Like so
I then cut 9--2x2 square out of a different B&T paper
and cut out 2--1 3/4 photos of my daughter
and then stamped her name "TIFFANY" on 7 colonial white squares ( 1 1/2")
You can choose to just add 9 family photos, or maybe your last name...whatever you wish
I then adhere these square to the blank walls of the blocks.
I have one side that is still blank on each block.
I will show you what I do with this last side in part 2 of this project.
Oh, and before I forget....
This is my plan for 2012
my home town is celebration it's centennial
100 years young.
and my gift to you will be
