Smash Book, what is it and how to make your own--pt3, putting it all together

From January 22, 2012
Now that all the pages are covered
I used our 1 1/4 circle punch to cut some
(finger-grabber hole tabby things--there must be a real word for this)
on every page
this will make it easy to grab the pages that you insert into the envelopes

then
From January 22, 2012
I found the center of each cover (and pages)
I cheat.
I know that my pages are 7 3/4" long,
so I stick the end of the ruler over the page 1/8 of an inch
this then puts the 4 inch mark in the center
I also use a post-it not to mark the center
(saves marking up my cover)
From January 22, 2012
I then place it in my bind-it machine
and here is where the beauty of the post-it not really shines
....line both arrows up, and you are binding in the center.

Now let's get down to stashin, your stash for on the go use.
First
you need some Z4114 4x6 memory protectors flip flaps
and some photo hangers

From January 22, 2012
I found two photo hanges and used them as "pocket closures"
ahere one to each of the inside covers
(I beefed up the adhesive and added two wide strips of strong adhesive
so that these flaps will not move)

From January 22, 2012
then I cut some tags and matts out of my stash of paper
found some stickers that I had lying around
and cut them into bit sized pieces
(so they would fit in the flip flaps)
I made this smash book for my daughter,
so I gathered things that she would find fun to add to her journaling pics, that she might include in this book.
From January 22, 2012
I filled both flip flaps with stickers and stuff

From January 22, 2012
From January 22, 2012
I then added scissors and a pen in one flip flap
From January 22, 2012
and a glue pen in the other flip flap

From January 22, 2012
I then added an appropriate sticker on the front.

From January 22, 2012
I also cut 16 pages (7 x 4 3/4)
to slip into the envelope pockets
(you can see how the half cicles that I cut in each envelope page
will make it easy to grab these extra pages)
You can cut more or less
You can leave some pockets empty
for stuff that you collect along your travels.
I know my daughter likes to write,
so I made lots of extra pages for her.

And now,
all that's left is for her
to use it.
